  • Real-World Impact: Chosen for its broad applications in language education and assessment, this project aimed to automate pronunciation evaluations for exams like TOEFL and IELTS, a necessity for international students.

  • Innovation: Introduced "Wave to Vector" techniques, pushing the boundaries in the field of language learning and pronunciation assessment.


My Contributions:

  • Research & Analysis: Deep-dived into the evolution of Computer Assisted Pronunciation Training (CAPT) and Automatic Speech Recognition (ASR), understanding their foundations and advancements.

  • Technical Implementation: Utilized advanced deep learning models, including Wav2Vec 2.0, to assess non-native pronunciation accurately. My role involved model training, fine-tuning, and evaluation to ensure high accuracy and reliability.

  • Solution Design: Spearheaded the development of a Goodness of Pronunciation Transformer (GOPT) model with multi-view features, showcasing my ability to innovate and implement complex AI models.
